Overview (Max 250 words): Through an accumulation of photography and Gyotaku fish prints, I have created an exhibition which delves into my relationship with the coastal space. Through returning to the sea over and over, I slowly accumulated insight into the intricacies of the landscapes, the animals they support, and thus the food that I respectfully and sustainably harvest. I assumed an observational role, documenting my experiences. The fish prints represent a moment of pausing to acknowledge a life taken for my sustenance. The collection of film and underwater photographs are a documentation of the time spent in the coastal space. It is my aim to express that the environment in which we find ourselves, whatever or wherever it may be, is not something that we are separate from, but rather something.
