I spent this year developing The Bigger Picture, a campaign focused on exploring Visual Literacy. The aim was to make the benefits of visual Literacy easy to understand and accessible to everyone.
The main initiative of the campaign centred around the creation of a children’s reader for the younger demographic. Through surveys of the public and a Grade 2 class at Seapoint Primary, I developed the illustration style, characters and storyline of the book. I titled the book What Kittens Need and turned one of its illustrations into a puzzle.
To parallel the children's puzzle, I created an abstract puzzle for the adult demographic out of colourful and textured shapes. Accompanying the puzzle is an envelope filled with creative prompts. This puzzle was designed to encourage creativity and imagination.
The brand has room to grow and encourages viewers to get involved in other Visual Literacy initiatives or start their own!
