Let’s chat, period. This body of work aims to create capacity for acceptance through revealing the raw, intimate reality of menstruation. By fostering menstrual conversation, Moon aims to destigmatize, empower and create a sense of community through interactive and participatory design. Menstruation can be associated with being a personal and private matter, however, menstruation is experienced on a universal scale. By facilitating the space to openly share one’s experiences, Moon aims to redefine the way menstruation is perceived in public spaces. By sharing or having access to other people’s experiences, one can find similarities, differences, contradictions and/or parallels within menstrual experiences. This is an attempt to bring about a sense of pride, relatability and menstrual hood.
